The Governor's Office of Economic Development provides rich business resources for creation, growth, and recruitment of companies to Utah. The GOED charter is based on the governor's commitment to this mission, which intends to lead the nation as a high performing economy and premier global business, film, and tourist destination. Creating proactive, unique economic development also includes promoting expansion of existing businesses, assisting entrepreneurs, engaging under-represented populations, and connecting partner agencies and community leaders. GOED accomplishes such through administration of programs, state resources, and private sector contracts based around targeted industries or "economic clusters" that reveal development potential. The mission of GOED is to enhance quality of life by increasing Utah's revenue base and improving employment opportunities.
