The Utah Women & Leadership Initiative and Project (UWLP) lead the conversation in women's educational opportunities to positively shape lives. Leading the charge is Dr. Susan R. Madsen. She is also a Professor of Leadership & Ethics at UVU's Woodbury School of Business. In a presentation highlighting influences found to effect the education of Utah women, Madsen notes, "Looking at trying to get more women to get to college and go to college is the foundation of so many things in our state- so much progress that can be made." The vision of Utah Women & Education Initiative encompasses more than obtaining a postsecondary degree in that it recognizes the connection of such to women realizing their own potential for positive impact and contribution to public and private organizations, as well as their influence to confidently influence in personal, family, societal, and work environments. A Utah Women's Leadership Speaker & Dialogue Series Conferences are held to continue the discussion and promote greater awareness and activity. The UWLP holds regular forums, lectures, discussions and workshops.
Next up is "Why Men Should Care About Strengthening Women" on March 30, 2016 (6:30-8:30) at Utah Valley University.
